Description: The rear frame bushing shackle bolt was rusted to the bushing in this truck. So I started cycling through different methods of removing the bolt from the bushing without destroying the bushing. Including soaking with typical penetrating oil over 8 hours of re-application, with the use of an air chisel to help the oil get in tight places. And using chisel to open the seam to get oil in as far as possible. Using a sledge hammer and 1/2″ impact, and finally drilling through from the head of the bolt. Then twisting with 1/2″ drive ratchet. Finally using impact and tie rod separator to turn and pry bolt out. I used moderately priced cobalt based drill bits.
